The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has signed an agreement with the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in the capital to undertake joint research activities in training and capacity building.
HUDCO is a government-owned corporation which aims to provide long term finance for construction of houses or undertake housing and urban development programmes in the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will help undertake joint research activities, training and capacity building programmes and consultancy assignments besides enabling students to have practical exposure through internship programmes, an official release said here Wednesday.
The Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), the research and training wing of HUDCO, will be the nodal department to operationalise the MoU signed last week by HUDCO chairman and managing director V.P. Baligar and School of Planning and Architecture director Chetan Vaidya, the release said.
