Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Wednesday reported a 3.1 percent rise in its sales for June which stood at 52,062 units -- up from 50,518 units in the corresponding month of 2014.

"In a market bearing low traction consistent demand of Elite i20, Grand, and Xcent, Hyundai volume grew by 8.3 percent and with the upcoming launch of Global SUV (sports utility vehicle) Creta, we are confident of sustained growth," said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president for sales and marketing, HMIL.

The company's domestic market sales grew by 8.3 percent and stood at 36,300 units during the month under review from 33,514 units sold in June, 2014.

However, the largest passenger car exporter in the country's sales abroad fell in the month under review.

The company only managed to ship-out 15,762 units in June, 2015, which is a decline of 7.3 percent from 17,004 units being sold abroad in the corresponding month of the previous year.
