Heavy rainfall is likely to lash eastern and central parts of the country over the next two days, the Met Office said on Sunday.
Due to a depression over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand, heavy rainfall will occur at many places over West Bengal, Bihar and Sikkim till Monday, while Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh will get heavy showers over the next two days.
Similarly, the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh too will get rain on Monday and Tuesday.
"Strong winds with speed reaching 30-40 km per hour would prevail around the depression centre" till Monday, the India Meteorological Department said.
