Incumbent DMK Lok Sabha member J.K. Ritheesh Thursday switched his loyalties to the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement issued here, the AIADMK said Ritheesh - elected from the Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha constituency in 2009 - met party general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and formally joined the party.
In 2011, Ritheesh was arrested in a land grab case after the AIADMK came to power in the state.
After joining the AIADMK, Ritheesh predicted a landslide victory for the party in the general election.
