Indian Railways on Thursday said that it will collaborate with Germany on high-speed trains.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on railways and high-speed trains on Friday.

"Both ministers will be focusing on deepening collaboration and strengthening ties in field of railways and high-speed trains," the Ministry of Railways said.

"After the meeting, a MoU will be signed between Indian Railways and DB Engineering and Consulting GmbH," the statement added.

Dobrindt is on a four day 'follow-up' visit to India. Earlier, Prabhu had visited Germany in April this year.
