An Indian supermarket worker in Bahrain, accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl, was released from custody on Monday, media report said.
The 25-year-old Indian was arrested on May 4 on charges of groping the Bahraini girl as she tried to take a trolley in the supermarket in Muharraq city in April, reported the Gulf Daily News.
The accused denied the allegation claiming that the girl had made up the story. The defence lawyer said that according to the accused, the Bahraini girl had approached him and asked him for a trolley.
He told her he could not give her the trolley because he was holding it for another customer.
"The girl insisted on taking the trolley and tried to force it out of his hands. When she was not given the trolley, the girl complained to her mother leading to his arrest," said the accused.
