A two-day national conference of investigators from all security agencies of central and state governments will be held in the national capital to discuss common problems and improve coordination among themselves, an official said on Thursday.
The conference will be inaugurated by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday.
"The conference of investigators, first of its kind, from agencies like National Investigation Agency (NIA), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and others from states will participate and discuss common problems in investigation, and they will also discuss ways and means to improve coordination to improve their functioning," Abhay, Director (Training), Bureau of Police Research and Development, told the media here.
"Indian police has lots of problems and challenges. There is a need for coordination among all police forces of the country to solve criminal cases effectively," he said, adding that an Interpol official, an Indian working with the international agency, will also participate in the event.
The conference, aimed to discuss investigation in economic, cyber and organised crimes, is expected to be attended by officials almost from all states, he said.
"All states have been invited. I am sure 90 per cent of them will surly participate in the conference which will certainly help in various ways," Abhy added.
He also felt the need of have centralised data base of criminals but said it all depends on government of the day to bring in required laws for it.
It is being organised by Bureau of Police Research and Development in coordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
