The Islamic State (IS) terror group on Tuesday claimed responsibility for two suicide attacks in eastern Iraq's Diyala province which killed over 50 people, the media reported.
The attacks took place on Monday.
In an online statement, the group said that an Iraqi suicide bomber blew up his booby-trapped car amid a crowd of Shias in the village of Huwaider near the provincial capital city of Baquba, Xinhua news agency reported.
Later on Monday, a massive explosion occurred at a busy marketplace also in Huwaider village when a suicide bomber detonated a truck carrying nearly three tonnes of explosives, the statement added.
Both the attacks killed over 50 people and injured more than 70 others.
