The Islamic State (IS) terror group has claimed responsibility for a bomb attack in a market place in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad in which 55 people were killed and over 200 others injured.
The attack on Thursday morning took place when a booby-trapped truck exploded in the crowded Jameela vegetable market in the Shia majority Sadr area, Xinhua news agency reported.
The IS released an online statement claiming responsibility for the attack, sources said.
The toll was likely to rise as many of the injured were in critical condition.
