The Indian Super League (ISL) franchises can buy a maximum of four players from the auction scheduled to be held here on Friday.
The total budget of each franchise is Rs.20 crore. The price cap for foreign players is Rs.15.50 crore. The franchises can buy a maximum of four domestic players from a purse of Rs.4.5 crore.
"The minimum squad size for a club is 22 players. Each club is allowed to increase their squad size to 26 players, by adding four more players."
A club can sign the four players through the "Additional Player" quota with maximum two being international players.
The auction will witness each domestic player individually presented in person, the auctioneer will ask for bids starting from the base price for each player.
The clubs would also have to ensure they have three goalkeepers in the squad of 26 players, two domestic and one international goalkeeper.
A total of 64 players have already been signed by the eight clubs through a retention process or from the free open market. A total of 40 domestic players will be selected through the draft.
Each club will have 13 domestic players by the end of the draft process. Each club is mandated to have two domestic players under the age of 23 years (called "Developmental Player") among the 13.
ISL champions Atletico de Kolkata need to pick four players from the draft, Delhi Dynamos need to rope in six while Chennaiyin FC have to pick five.
The amount left in the purse for Atletico is Rs.2.71 crore for the domestic footballers while Chennaiyin FC and Delhi Dynamos have Rs.2.41 crore and Rs.2.18 crore, respectively.
