Milan (Italy), Jan 3 (IANS/AKI) Police on Monday arrested an 82-year-old man who alleged tried to strangle his 81-year-old wife during a violent quarrel at the couple's home in northern Italy.
The pensioner is said to have tightened a bathrobe cord around his wife's neck at their apartment in the outskirts of Pavia but she managed to break free and ran outside to summon help.
The man faces charges of attempted murder. His wife was taken to hospital but doctors said she is not in a serious condition.
