Palermo (Italy), April 11 (IANS/AKI) Police evacuated Sicilian capital Palermo's central station on Tuesday and deployed a bomb squad after a suspect package was discovered at an entrance to the station.
Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion on the package, which was found to contain "ordinary goods", police said.
Also on Tuesday, police evacuated eastern Sicilian city of Catania's main courthouse and called in a bomb squad after receiving an anonymous phone call warning that an explosive device had been planted there.
The bomb squad combed the courthouse buildings but failed to find any explosive device, police stated.
