Italy's Viviani wins second stage of Dubai Tour

Italian rider Elia Viviani from Team Sky won the second stage of the 2015 Dubai Tour which finished after a 187 kilometres ride on the man-made island Palm Jumeirah.

British cyclist Mark Cavendish from the team Etixx - Quick Step was second Thursday and successfully defended his leader's jersey which he snatched Wednesday when he won the first stage of the four-day race, reports Xinhua.

Viviani's countryman Andrea Guardini from the Kazakh team Astana Pro was third.

The Dubai Tour continues Friday with the hilly 205 kilometres-long stage three.
