Former union minister Jaswant Singh's son Manvendra Singh on Saturday said his father continues to be in a coma but is stable.

"His (Jaswant Singh) condition is stable and is under home care now. There has been much improvement in his condition unlike what it was couple of months back when he showed no signs of recovery and was not even responding to the treatment," Manvendra Singh told IANS.

The 76-year-old former BJP leader suffered a head injury on August 8, 2014 and was admitted to the Army hospital (Research and Referral) in a critical condition.

Since then he is being given total parenteral nutrition (TPN), which delivers nutrients intravenously when a patient is unable to eat on his/her own.

He was initially discharged from the hospital on December 30 last year. However, he was readmitted on April 4 after his condition deteriorated. He was discharged a few days later but has remained in coma since then.

Also former union minister and Congress leader Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, who slipped into coma in 2008 after suffering a heart stroke, is in Apollo hospital.

"Mr Munshi's condition is stable but we can't exactly say how much time it will take for him to regain sensory powers. Every medical treatment required is being given," said a senior doctor of Apollo hospital.
