The Jharkhand government will seek Rs.11,972.88 crore from Niti Ayog (National Institution for Transforming India) for four projects in the state, an official said on Wednesday.
The four projects pertain to smart villages, proliferation of green revolution, development of core capital, and making Damodar river pollution free under Namami Gange project.
Under the green revolution proliferation, 355,750 hectares of land would be brought under irrigation. The reorganisation of irrigation system would cost around Rs.5,336.25 crore.
A total of 4,320 hectares of land would be irrigated with 480 solar pump sets at an estimated cost of Rs.48 crore, and Rs.328.33 crore are proposed to be spent for consolidating dairy farming-cum-observation centres.
Under the smart village project, a Rs.525 crore scheme is proposed to be implemented from 2015-16 to 2020-21 by the local administration, agriculture and other departments concerned.
The Rs.1,640 crore Namami Gange project aims to make the Damodar river pollution-free. Treatment plants and sewerage worth Rs.1,500 crore are proposed to be set up in Dhanbad, Ramgarh and Phusro in Jharkhand.
Treatment plants costing Rs.140 crore for waste water management are proposed to be set up at four places in the state.
