Singer John Legend has decided to raffle his services off in a bid to raise money for a good cause, and to spread love ahead of Valentine's Day.

The singer is offering his fans a chance for a personal performance, who donate $10 and enter 100 chances to win.

The proceeds will go to his Show Me Campaign, which aims to rebuild an auditorium at his old school -- the former South High School in Springfield, Ohio.

On the raffle's website, a YouTube video was posted of the singer playing a keyboard adorned with red rose petals, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

In the video, he said: "Hey, I'm John Legend, arguably, one of the most romantic people in the world.

"Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Love is in the air and I'm feeling very inspired to spread the love. That's why I want to sing a private show for you. Anywhere! Even your wedding! And if you're already married, that's cool, let's celebrate your anniversary.

"Not married? Not a problem," he continued.

"I'll sweeten up that hot date and get you to that next step...of marriage, of course."

Legend goes on to warn that he won't sing "weird cover songs" but admits there could be one exception, before launching into his rendition of single "I wanna sex you up".

Ending March 26, the raffle will also allow those who enter in with a chance of hanging out with the singer.
