Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Saturday met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Commissioner of Police B.S. Bassi and other officials and took stock of the capital's preparedness in the wake of the earthquake that hit Nepal and several Indian states.
The commissioners of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi informed that minor cracks were seen in three buildings in east district, two in south district and one in north district. All the sites were visited and cracks were assessed, an official statement issued here said.
"There has been no significant damage to any structure or building, and there is no cause for concern. The secretary of Public Works Department informed that post the quake, all flyovers were visited and no damage was detected," it added.
The governor was informed that the control room of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority has been beefed up so that people can provide information and the same can be shared with the authority concerned as also to allay fears that people may have.
"The people can call the DDMA control room on 1077 in case they have any information to share. The control centres are operational 24 hours all seven days," it said.
