Southern composer M.M. Keeravani posted a voting "suprabhatham" video Wednesday while assembly polls were underway in Telangana to encourage city dwellers to vote as enthusiastically as people from villages and smaller towns.
In the 20-second video, Keeravani asks why people from the city are not voting with enthusiasm.
"Wake up, wake up and vote," he said in a video posted on Youtube hours after he cast his vote Wednesday.
He followed it up with the opening lines of "suprabhatham".
"It's time for the polling. It's time for every Hyderabadi to vote," he added.
Keeravani is known for composing for films such as "Pelli Sandadi", "Allari Priyudu" and "Gangotri".
He has composed tunes for over 100 southern films. In Hindi, he has composed music for films such as "Zakhm", "Paap", "Jism" and "Paheli".
