Kejriwal assures British delegation of ease of doing business

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tried to hard sell the national capital as a favoured destination for doing business as a visiting British delegation called on him on Friday.

Kejriwal, assured British Minister of State for Trade and Investment Lord Francis Maude and UK Trade and Investment director at the British High Commission John Gould, that his government would bring a paradigm shift in Delhi within six months.

"We urge you to look at Delhi, we are working hard to simplify things. We are implementing honest governance.

"Let's work on areas where we can partner. As far as ease of doing is business is concerned, don't worry on that, there would be a paradigm shift in ease of doing business in Delhi within six months," he told Maude.

Kejriwal expressed his desire for partnerships in the fields of education, health, tourism, entertainment, and traffic decongestion.

Both sides were of the opinion that joining hands will benefit Delhi a lot in solving some of problem which are common.

Kejriwal informed the delegation of the government's resolve to clean Yamuna and asked if Britain would be of help in the process.

At this, Maude said: "We are with you and keen to support and partner. We will soon organise contacts and see how things can be taken forward."
