A doctor kidnapped from Delhi was rescued safely from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh after a shootout with his kidnappers, police said on Wednesday.
"Dr. Sreekanth, kidnapped earlier this month, was rescued by a joint team of Delhi and Meerut Police," a tweet by Meerut Police said.
A Delhi Police official confirmed the development but did not provide further details.
