Kyrgyzstan on Thursday launched the official website of the World Nomad Games which will be held in the Issyk-Kul region in September, announced the secretariat for the six-day event.

Nurdin Sultambaev, the Head of the Secretariat of the World Nomad Games 2016, told a press conference in Bishkek that the design of the website, www.worldnomadgames.com, fully complies with the corporate style of the games, reports Xinhua.

"The website will publish all the information concerning the Games ... including the programme and schedule of all the events within the framework of the World Nomad Games in three languages -- English, Russian and Kyrgyz. Besides, online shop will be available soon, where everyone can view and purchase branded souvenirs of the World Nomad Games," he said.

In his interview to Xinhua, Sultambaev said that this is a big event and Kyrgyzstan expects a large number of tourists to visit the country.

He expressed the hope that the games will give good results in the future.

"We focus on sports games, but at the same time we try to unite both sport activities and culture festivals in one project," he said.

Sultambaev also said that national sports are very popular in Central Asia.

"We received applications from many countries, where huge money is invested in traditional national sports games. This proves that every nation wants to preserve their national sports games and tries to develop and spread around the world and Kyrgyzstan took this initiative," he said, expressing hope that promotion of this brand will be successful.

The Second World Nomad Games will be held from September 3-8.

Heads of states and governments, prominent figures in the fields of culture and science and athletes from 40 countries and regions have been invited to the Nomad Games.

The first World Nomad Games were held in Kyrgyzstan from September 8-14, 2015 with the participation of athletes from 19 countries and regions.

The aim of the Nomad Games is the revival and preservation of the historical cultural heritage of the nomadic people's civilisation.
