Two people died and nine injured after lightning hit a bus shelter in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Friday, authorities said on Saturday.
According to the district government of Youjiang in Baise city, the thunderbolt hit the crowd when they were taking shelter from the rain at a bus stop in Liuma village at around 4.50 p.m. on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Four people were seriously injured, the government sources said.
The National Meteorological Center on Friday issued a yellow alert for torrential rain, thunderstorms and hail in parts of southern China including Guangxi.
China has a four-tier colour-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
