English football club Liverpool on Thursday agreed a deal to sign midfielder James Milner from Manchester City.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at City this summer and will move to Liverpool on July 1, subject to a medical test.
Liverpool have been in pole position to sign Milner since January and he has decided to make a move in search of more regular first-team football.
"Liverpool are delighted to announce a deal has been agreed to sign James Milner from Manchester City," Liverpool FC tweeted on Thursday.
Milner's decision will be a significant blow to beleaguered City manager Manuel Pellegrini, who in March went on record to express his admiration for the versatile midfielder.
