The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has observed some working constrains under the new Lokpal law and has written to the central government about it, CBI director Ranjit Sinha said here Friday.
He was speaking after delivering a keynote address during the valedictory ceremony at the CBI Academy here.
The director said, "Since the new law has been enforced and it is too early to comment on the ground realities, but whatever constrains we felt prima facie, we wrote to the government. We are awaiting the reply from the government."
Earlier, he delivered a lecture on "Criminal intelligence and investigating procedures", on conclusion of a four-week course for 20 trainee police officers from Sri Lanka.
The director, in his speech, focused on both spirituality and education. He said Sri Lanka practised Buddhism in the third century BC when Mahindra, son of Ashoka, introduced the Buddhist way of spiritualism there while daughter Sanghamitra planted the Mahabodhi tree at Bodh Gaya, and a new learning and wisdom spread in India.
The Sri Lankan trainees also undertook a study tour of Agra, Jaipur and Delhi.
