Leading French football club Lyon has confirmed the signing of winger Claudio Beauvue on a four-year deal for an initial 4.5 million euros.
The 27-year-old Frenchman decided to join Lyon last week, but the deal was confirmed on Thursday, Xinhua reported on Friday.
Lyon will pay Guingamp an initial 4.5 million euros, but it could rise to 7.5 million euros depending on appearances of Beauvue.
Beauvue scored 17 goals for Guingamp last season in Ligue 1, which equalled the club record set by Didier Drogba in 2003. Beauvue also won the 2014 French Cup with Guingamp.
As Ligue 1 runners-up of last year, Lyon will compete in the Champions League next season, which persuaded the Guadeloupe native to join Lyon. As Beauvue moved to Lyon, there are two summer signings of Lyon so far, and the other is defender Jeremy Morel from Marseille.
