Mahindra & Mahindra said on Thursday its vehicles sales in September 2015 declined marginally by 4.5 percent at 42,848 vehicles against 44,911 in September last year.
The passenger vehicles segment (utility vehicles, cars and vans) declined seven percent, at 19,564 units sold in September 2015 against 21,141 units in September last year.
However commercial vehicles, both medium and heavy, demonstrated a healthy growth of 184 percent with sale of 511 units against 180 units last year.
In the light commercial vehicles segment, those 3.5 tonnes and above grew by 77 percent with sale of 459 units against 260 units last year, but those below 3.5 tonnes, fell by nine percent at 13,460 units sold against 14,731 units last year.
Three wheelers' sales also continued the declining trend with a fall of seven percent, at 5,699 units against 6,096 units last year.
Total exports rose by 26 percent in the month under review with 3,155 units against 2,503 in 2014.
