A court hrere on Wednesday directed the GMR airport, Shamshabad, to furnish the latest address of Kingfisher chairman Vijay Mallya by June 6 to enable it issue him summons in a dud cheque case.
The third special magistrate court, expected to deliver judgment in the case on Wednesday, received a written reply from the Maharashtra Police that Mallya's residence in Mumbai was attached by the State Bank of India and hence the summons was returned with the reason: "The said person is not available at this address".
The judge directed then directed GMR to get Mallya's latest address and postponed the case to June 6.
The court trial was completed three months ago but the judgment was postponed as Mallya had not been attending the court.
Mallya is charged with defaulting airport user and the cheque issued by him got bounced because of having "insufficient funds in the account".
The company issued two cheques of Rs.50 lakh each towards part settlement of the nearly Rs.12 crore dues.
The GMR filed a suit in the court under section 138 of the Negotiable Instrument (NI) Act, under which Mallya is liable for imprisonment upto two years.
The GMR is said to be contemplating moving higher court for verdict in the case as the trial had already got over and the charges were proved against Mallya and the Kingfisher management.
GMR counsel Ashok Reddy had insisted that the court pass ex parte orders, as there is provision in the Criminal Procedure Code to do so.
