A 34-year-old man was arrested on charge of murdering an old friend after the latter urinated on him in public, police said on Thursday.
Police said accused Ashish of Bapa Nagar worked as an air conditioner (AC) mechanic. He allegedly murdered Paras, 28, a local criminal, in a fit of rage on January 11.
Ashish opened fire on Paras from close range with a country-made pistol and was on the run ever since, police said.
"He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in a police raid after he came to meet a lawyer for seeking bail from Tis Hazari courts. He told police he was previously involved in nine cases of theft and under the Arms Act," Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Randhawa said.
Ashish's father is a bad character of the area and is also involved in criminal cases, police said.
