The body of a man, murdered by strangulation, was found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, police said Thursday. The victim's family alleged the murder was committed on the village council's order.
The body of 27-year-old Lala was found Wednesday in Nagla village. The man in whose field the body was found informed police.
A post-mortem examination conducted Thursday revealed that the man was first strangled and then hung from the tree to make it appear to be case of suicide, Superintendent of Police (City) Rajesh Kumar said.
The man's family alleged that some men from their village hung Lala from the tree after a decision by the village council.
However, the police officer said they had no information about the village council's decision and a probe was on.
