Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Thursday heaped praise on the prime minister, saying he was his political guru and no one could match the development work done by Manmohan Singh.
"I have two political gurus, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the prime minister," Gandhi said while addressing a rally in this Punjab town.
"No one else has done so much development work as done by the prime minister," he said.
He thanked the people of Punjab for "giving us the prime minister".
Stating that Manmohan Singh's intent was honest, Gandhi said the UPA government under him since 2004 has changed the development structure.
"We have given a rights based politics which empowers the common man," said Gandhi while referring to Right to Information Act, rural employment guarantee act and the food security act.
