Maoist guerrillas set fire to several vehicles involved in infrastructural development work in three districts of Jharkhand, the state police said.
According to the police, Maoist guerrillas torched four tractors and one JCB machine involved in road construction work at Bimrala Panchayat of Gumla district. They also fired shots in the air and reportedly even stopped the road construction work.
Ten days ago, a threat from the Maoists had prompted the Bimrala mines to close.
In another incident, the Maoists torched three mixture machines and one generator set involved in bridge construction work in Latehar district.
In Lohardaga district, Maoists torched one JCB machine and one tractor at Perasar of the district.
Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of Jharkhand.
