Hip-hop artist Meek Mill has been forced to cancel a New Year's Eve gig with his rapper girlfirend Nicki Minaj as he needs to serve community service.

Mill had to perform in Las Vegas, but now he needs to be in his hometown Philadelphia to perform community service instead, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Mill was found guilty of violating his probation dating back to a 2009 drug conviction.

A judge has ordered him to stay in Philadelphia and do his community service hours under the watchful eye of probation officer until his next court date, February 5 next year.

Mill was supposed to perform at the show with Minaj, who will now perform alone on Thursday.
