German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz on Thursday reported a rise of 41 percent in its sales for the first half of the calendar year.
The company's sales during the first half of 2015 stood at 6,659 units from an off-take of 4,717 units during the like period of the last year.
"In the first six months of 2015, we sold almost as many cars as in the entire year of 2012," said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
"We are on track with our long term objective of achieving a sustained profitable growth for our business in India."
According to Kern, the company is preparing to launch new products in the remaining two quarters of 2015, including the AMG GT.
The company reported it's highest ever second quarter sales volumes which grew at 43 percent at 3,093 units from an off-take of 2,163 units in the corresponding period of 2014.
