Delhi residents got some respite from heat on Sunday after a rainy morning with maximum temperature coming down four notches below average to 36.7 degrees Celsius mark for the first time in the past fortnight due to the "western disturbance". The cooler weather is likely to last till the month-end.
The temperature is likely to drop further for next two days, on May 30 and 31, due to the western disturbances, the Met office forecast. Delhi experienced similar weather on May 3.
"There would be partly cloudy sky on Monday. Dust storm and thunderstorm with squall is very likely to occur at some areas," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 37 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Sunday's minimum temperature settled at 24 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average, while the humidity oscillated between 43 and 79 percent.
On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above average while the minimum temperature was 31.6 degrees Celsius, five notches above.
