Anti-narcotics sleuths Tuesday arrested a minor boy and seized from him nearly half a kilogram of hashish (charas) worth Rs.70,000 in the international market.
A police spokesperson said the minor was sent to a state-run juvenile home after his arrest.
"He is around 17 years old. We found charas and an Iphone on him," deputy superintendent of police attached to the anti-narcotics cell Nilu Raut Dessai told reporters here.
The raid was carried out near a state-run library in St. Cruz on the outskirts of Panaji.
Although a few minors are caught in drug raids, instances of young children used as "mules" - or drug couriers - is not rare in Goa, which is a known narcotics tourism destination.
