Moms smitten by twerk dance moves

Be it celebrities or teenagers, the hot dance move called twerking is hugely popular among various groups. And now, moms are smitten by it.

When a person dances in a sexually suggestive fashion by twisting the hips -- shaking the upper and lower hips in a bouncy motion that makes everything jiggle and wiggle -- it is known as twerking.

Singers like Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus and also teenagers have posted videos on social media while twerking. Now, pregnancy and parenting website BabyCenter.com has found that mothers are also documenting themselves doing the same, reports abcnews.go.com.

"Celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Miley Cyrus and Beyonce have all been seen twerking, and now people everywhere (of all ages) are doing it," said Linda Murray, global editor-in-chief of BabyCenter.com, which first spotted the dancing moms in the BabyCenter Community.

"Moms are very plugged into pop culture, and also have a great sense of humour, so it's no surprise they're enjoying this craze like everyone else," she added.

Murray also said that being being pregnant doesn't mean your life is over.

She added: "Trends like this prove that you're still a woman when you become a mother. And you can shake your booty just like you did before!"
