Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that he was in direct touch with the Chhattisgarh government over the Sukma Naxal attack in which seven policemen of the Special Task Force (STF) were gunned down and 12 injured.
The minister, in a message on Twitter, said that he spoke to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, who apprised him of the situation. More security personnel have been rushed to the affected area.
"Spoke to Chhattisgarh CM @drramansingh over phone who apprised me of the situation in Sukma. Extra CRPF teams have been rushed to the spot," Rajnath Singh tweeted.
He also lauded security personnel for their bravery in fighting the menance of Naxalism. "I salute the bravery of our security personnel who laid down their lives while fighting the Naxals. I wish for speedy recovery of the injured," the tweet added.
