Motorsports: Murthy, Sujith complete hattrick

Team Tata Motors' entrants Chidananda Murthy and navigator B.S. Sujith Kumar scored an emphatic win and a hattrick this season by winning the Pro-Stock category in the Rally of Coimbatore, the fourth round of the FMSCI Indian National TSD Rally Championship, here Sunday.

With wins in Jaipur and Bangalore before emerging triumphant here, Murthy and Sujith Kumar have 81 points in their kitty as they bid to consolidate their position in the championship.

It was a 1-2 in the Pro Stock category for Team Tata Motors as Saurav Chatterjee and Ashoke Kumar Basu finished second.

Erode's K.P. Karthick Maruthi and S. Sankar Anand clinched the title in the Pro Expert category and emerged as the overall winners.

"It was a challenging route and we enjoyed the rally very much. It is a great feeling to win three rounds in a row. This is good for our championship bid and we hope to continue winning in the next round in Goa," said Chidananda Murthy.
