A 59-year-old sanitation employee of Delhi's municipal corporation was found burnt to death in his house here Thursday morning under mysterious circumstances, police said.
Karan's body was found with 95 percent burn injuries in his Kirti Nagar house in west Delhi.
His body was sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause behind his death.
"Prima facie evidence suggests it to be an accidental case because Karan took his dinner around 1.30 a.m. and went to sleep. It seems he lit a beedi but forgot to douse it thus causing a fire," said a police officer.
According to the officer, Karan could not flee the fire because he was in an inebriated condition.
