Myanmar President U Thein Sein met a number of political leaders at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday to discuss domestic political issues.
The meeting is the second of its kind summoned by the president, and took place two days ahead of scheduled six-party talks on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Political leaders, ethnic affairs ministers and representatives of various ethnic communities took part in the talks.
Three key points, namely the domestic peace process, the 2015 general elections and political stability before the elections, were the focus of the meeting, sources from political parties said.
The first such meeting was held on January 12.
The follow-up six-party talks scheduled for Friday will discuss a number of issues, including constitution amendment.
