Myanmar will send seven athletes to compete in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games, U Kyi Soe Lin, assistant director of Ministry of Health and Sport announced on Wednesday.
They will compete in swimming, athletics, shooting, judo and archery at the August 5- 21 Games, reports Xinhua.
Those athletes have been training since November 2015. The archery and shooting teams are expected to score good results, according to the official.
Four years ago, six Myanmar athletes attended the London Olympics.
Except for the 1976 Olympics, Myanmar has participated in all summer Olympic Games since 1948, without any medal, but never attended any Winter Olympic Games.
