Nayar, Chand to lead India A against New Zealand

Mumbai all-rounder Abhishek Nayar and Delhi batsman Unmukt Chand will share captaincy for India A against the touring New Zealand side.

Nayar will lead the side in the two unofficial Tests at the Port Trust Diamond Jubilee Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The first match beginning Aug 31 will be a three-day affair and the second one starting Sep 5 will last for four days.

Chand, who also finds a place in 14-man squad for the unofficial Tests, will captain the team in the three one-dayers from Sep 11, at the same venue.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the BCCI picked the teams here on Wednesday.

Test squad: Abhishek Nayar (Mumbai, captain), Jiwanjyot Singh (Punjab), Unmukt Chand (Delhi), Vijay Zol (Maharashtra), Manpreet Juneja (Gujarat), V. Jagdish (Kerala), C.M. Gautham (Karnataka), Dhawal Kulkarni (Mumbai), Imtiaz Ahmed (Uttar Pradesh), Aniket Choudhary (Rajasthan), Shrikant Wagh (Vidarbha), Jalaj Saxena (Madhya Pradesh), Rakesh Dhruv (Gujarat), Sarabjeet Ladda (Punjab).

One-day squad: Unmukt Chand (Delhi, captain), Robin Uthappa (Karnataka), Aditya Tare (Mumbai), Kedhar Jadhav (Maharashtra), Mandeep Singh (Punjab), Ashok Menaria (Rajasthan), Sanju Vishwanadh (Kerala), Sachin Baby (Kerala), Dhawal Kulkarni (Mumbai), Basant Mohanty (Orissa), Sandeep Sharma (Punjab), Shrikant Wagh (Vidarbha), Rahul Sharma (Punjab), Jalaj Saxena (Madhya Pradesh).
