After electing a new prime minister earlier yjis week, Nepal will now choose a new parliament speaker by Friday, it was announced here.
The nomination process started on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, Parliament Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang was expected to resign his post later in the day.
Deputy Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar is also scheduled to submit her resignation simultaneously.
The new speaker was expected to be picked from the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), sources abreast of new political realignments here said.
