Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mission will be implemented by the party's new youthful team, BJP general secretary J.P. Nadda said here Saturday.
"Modi-ji's mission will be implemented by this new yuva BJP team under the leadership of Amit Shah," he told IANS.
"The new team is a mix of new and old, but experienced, faces. All are below 50 years," he said.
The Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh, known for his proximity to Shah, said all the states and communities were given due representation in the new team.
Nadda started his political career in 1978 as a student leader of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), allied to the BJP.
He also worked both with Nitin Gadkari and Shah in the party's youth wing - the Bharatiya Yuva Morcha from 1991 to 1994.
In the parliamentary election, Nadda played an important role in Himachal Pradesh, his home state, to win all the four seats even though the Congress government was at the helm.
"Nadda was given more responsibilities in the elections - right from selecting the candidates to ensuring their victory. He toured extensively all areas in the state," said a leader from Himachal, who did not wish to be identified.
In the previous BJP government (2007-2012) in Himachal, Nadda was forced to resign as forest minister in 2010 owing to differences between him and then chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
He was then picked by Gadkari in his new team. He was made party's national general secretary. Nadda is also party's in-charge in Chhattisgarh and election in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir.
