At least nine people were injured in an attack by a leopard in Telangana's Medak district on Tuesday, police said.
After five-hour-long struggle, forest officials managed to captured the animal.
The incident occurred in Chukkapur village of Kolcharam mandal in Medak district. The condition of one of the injured is stated to be critical.
Panic gripped the village after people spotted the leopard Tuesday morning and the big cat attacked some people working in the field.
Forest officials with the help of police and revenue personnel and local people launched a hunt for the leopard, which managed to give them the slip. However, forest officials laid a trap and finally caught it. It was later shifted to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
All the injured were shifted to a hospital in Medak, where a woman is in critical condition.
