At least nine policemen were killed on Thursday in two attacks in Pakistan's Mohmand district bordering Afghanistan.
Seven personnel were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire at a security checkpost in Karapa area late Wednesday, Dawn online reported.
After killing the seven personnel, the militants managed to flee, officials said.
In another attack, militants opened fire at two police personnel in Machni area who were on duty at a solar tubewell.
Mohmand is one of Pakistan's seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border where the military has been battling Al Qaeda and Taliban-linked militants for over a decade.
