Nitish Kumar DNA affected by Lalu's: BJP

The BJP here on Thursday said JD-U leader Nitish Kumar's DNA was affected by his alliance partner and RJD leader Lalu Prasad and the Bihar chief minister was following Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's confrontational style.

"Nitish Kumar's arrogance is speaking. His attitude and behaviour have changed. It seems his DNA has been affected by Lalu Prasad's DNA," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy told media persons at the party headquarters here.

"Nitish is speaking the similar manner in which Lalu Prasad used to speak with the people of Bihar. His behaviour shows the effect of Lalu's DNA on him," the union minister said.

It was unfortunate that Nitish ran his government like former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad's Jungle Raj, said Rudy, adding: "He has become the soldier of Lalu's Jungle Raj."

The BJP leader also said that the day he (Nitish Kumar) joined Lalu, he lost his political credibility. People would not allow them to bring the 'Jungle Raj' part two.

The BJP's response came in the wake of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's DNA remark, made in a July 25 Muzaffarpur rally, triggering reactions from Nitish Kumar at following political meetings and the recent Swabhiman Rally in Patna, terming the remark as an insult to Bihar.

Rudy, meanwhile, also dubbed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as quarrelsome, saying Nitish Kumar was following him.

"The people of Delhi are regretting their decision to elect Arvind Kejriwal as their chief minister. The people are experiencing a quarrelsome chief minister, who sometimes quarrel with the centre and sometimes with lieutenant governor," Rudy said.

"No one wants a quarrelsome chief minister. The government of Bihar is doing the same. Bihar will not accept a quarrelsome chief minister," he added.

Asking Bihar Chief Minister to give the account of his five-year rule, Rudy accused him of dividing the people in the name of religion and caste.

"It was Nitish who coined the concept of Maha Dalit, Extreme backward and divided people of Bihar in castes. People of Bihar want development and will reject the politics of caste," he said.

Rudy also slammed Nitish Kumar for threatening government workers who were raising their voice for permanent jobs during a function in Samastipur district.

"Such a behaviour shows the chief minister's arrogance," he said, referring to the incident when during a function Kumar warned the protesters to stop sloganeering, otherwise they would lose their jobs.

Rudy also said the Samajwadi Party's decision to part away from Janata Parivar reflected unrest in the opposition camp over its falling support among the masses in Bihar.

"During the recent JD-U, RJD rally in Patna, the SP leaders had witnessed thin presence of the people and took a decision to quit the alliance," Rudy said.

"Prime minister's four rallies in the state proved that no one would be able to counter the NDA in the forthcoming Bihar polls," the BJP leader added.
