North Korea Monday said it will put two detained US tourists on trial for hostile acts.

Miller Matthew Todd and Jeffrey Edward Fowle were allegedly "perpetuating hostile acts," after they entered the country, Xinhua reported.

North Korea said an investigation confirmed their hostile acts based on evidence and their testimonies.

North Korea said it will continue a further investigation and put them on trial.

Todd, 24, was taken into custody April 10 for rash behaviour in the course of going through formalities for entry into the country.

Fowle, 56, who entered the country April 29, was arrested for acts against his tourism goal and violation of law.

The US State Department issued a travel warning last month, advising Americans against travelling to Noth Korea.
