BJP leader and party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Om Mathur, who will arrive here Thursday will kickstart the party's membership drive, a leader said.
Party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said Mathur will also meet the office bearers of various wings of the party as well as all the 75 district party presidents.
Bharatiya Janata Party's national president Amit Shah has tasked Mathur with the state and this is his first visit to the state after taking charge as general secretary in-charge.
Sources said Mathur was given the charge for his 'deep understanding' of ground realities, organizational skills and strategy making with an eye on the 2017 state assembly elections.
Insiders said Mathur is also likely to brainstorm on the party's offensive against the state's Samajwadi Party (SP) government led by Akhilesh Yadav.
He will be accompanied by national deputy chief of the membership drive Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
