A man has been arrested on charge of trying to run over an on-duty Constable who hailed him to stop for routine checking, Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
Police said Constable Anil Kumar was deployed at a police roadblock in Naraina police station jurisdiction on late Tuesday night when accused Kawaljeet Singh of Rajendra Nagar area was hailed to stop. He however fled after allegedly trying to run over Kumar but was arrested after a chase of one km.
"Singh was moving from Naraina side in his Honda Accord car but sped away when hailed to stop. He tried to crush Kumar who jumped aside to escape the oncoming car," a senior police officer said.
